Adam and Family in Africa part II .

Dear Adam, Liz, Alex and Mat.

I look forward to welcome you in Africa again! Together we will do some sight seeing, walks, hopefully see a lot of animals!

Maybe we can do some horse riding in the Cape vineyards or do a surf lesson on a white beach! We will only have two full days here in Cape Town, but there are the winelands to explore, the Cape Peninsula, Table Mountain and Robin Island! Let's see what we get up to.

The choice between Mozambique and Namibia left us with Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana in the middle! So there we go for the second leg of our second visit to Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. We will land in Zambia, stay in Zimbabwe and probably visit Botswana's Chobe Park for a day. Oh yes, Zimbabwe is probably on someones visit boycott list, but have they forgotten the game viewing? The spectacular Victoria Falls! Surely they missed Ilala Lodge, the closest to the Falls, or The Hide in Hwange! http://www.ilalalodge.com

These countries are often best to visit when at their economically most challenged, and the politics seem peacefull. Lets slip in quick!

The Safaris or Game Drives at The Hide should be excellent. Prize winning spot with abundant wildlife, birds and magnificant wooded savanna in the area. http://www.thehide.com
I adore what epitomise safari. Even for me this will be a first visit to The Hide, while I look forward to a return to Ilala Lodge.

Talking about advanced African travelling: at Victoria Falls these masses of cascading water is the main attraction, but there will be lots of things to do from Ilala. The river Zambezi might actually be too full to navigate on a raft in February (pray for drought!) . If it is navigable this is my choise activity. And if all else fails there is elephant back riding? For our second full day at Vic Falls I suggest a visit to Chobe Park in Botswana.

While at The Hide up to four game activities are included every day! We'll be busy there for sure.

So dear Japkos and Spatolas, this is some trip we're getting into, can't wait! Send me your thoughts please.

  2. Kirsten,

This sounds amazing. I scoured the itinerary to uncover posssible points of near death experiences and I think I only counted three! That is better than I expected!

We are as excited and it will be good to see you after too long and where you are living and how your life is going. Can't wait.

Do you want me to contact Hamilton Vineyards to organize anything? Let me know and which day if it make sense. Their CEO extended an invitation to us.

I will send you a separate note on some specifics.

    Regards,

    Adam
